From September 28 to October 1, 2026, HOLOGISTICS participated in the European Commission’s flagship event, Connecting Europe Days 2026, held at the SQUARE Brussels Convention Centre. As Europe’s key gathering for transport, infrastructure, and smart mobility, the event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and technology innovators to define the future of European supply chains.

HOLOGISTICS at the Physical Internet Village (Booth 94)

Located in the Digital Innovation Zone on Level 0 (Booth 94), HOLOGISTICS was featured as part of the Physical Internet Village—a collaborative pavilion bringing together forward-thinking Horizon Europe projects. Alongside initiatives like IKIGAI, PILOTS, Future Proof Smart Logistics, DISCO, UNCHAIN, and Shift2Zero, HOLOGISTICS demonstrated how joint European research is making the Physical Internet (PI) a practical reality.

The Physical Internet represents a paradigm shift: an open, interconnected global logistics system where physical freight is routed seamlessly across multimodal networks, much like data packets flow across the digital web.

What HOLOGISTICS Featured in Brussels

Co-funded under the Horizon Europe program, HOLOGISTICS accelerates zero-emission freight transport by developing and validating 12 integrated physical and digital solutions. At Booth 94, visitors explored:

• Modular & Smart Asset Interoperability: Sensor-integrated packaging and smart containers designed for seamless transfer across transport modes.

• AI-Powered Synchromodal Optimization: Real-time decision-support tools that dynamically assign freight to the cleanest and most efficient transport combinations (rail, road, water).

• Fleet Decarbonization Strategies: Clean vehicle technology and smart charging frameworks for zero-emission last-mile and corridor transport.

• Pilot Operations in Action: Practical insights and data from HOLOGISTICS’ three large-scale European pilot projects, demonstrating measurable reductions in CO2 emissions, delivery times, and logistics costs.

Throughout the four-day event, our project team engaged with attendees, policy experts, and industry leaders seeking collaborative opportunities, exploring zero-emission logistics technologies, and discussing policy-driven innovations for freight transport.
